SHARING OUR FAITH
Establishing a “'SPIRITUAL BASE" for mv life
Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for me and showed he was God by coming back to life.
“By this Gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. otherwise, you have believed in vain. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures."
1 Corinthians 15:2-4
Accept God's free forgiveness for my sins.
"This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."
Romans 3:22-23
Switch to God's plan for my life.
"The Kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!" Mark 1:15
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is his good, pleasing and perfect will."
Romans 12:2
Express my desire for Christ to be the center of my life.
"That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10:9
If you are willing to take these four steps, then pray this simple prayer:
Dear God, I believe you sent your son, Jesus, to die for my sins so I can be forgiven. I'm sorry for my sins and I want to live the rest of my life the way you want me to. Please put your Spirit in my life to direct me. Amen
The following were the 16 rules Susanna Wesley
used in raising her 19 children.
1. Eating between meals is not allowed.
2. As children, they are to be in bed by 8 p.m.
3. They are required to take medicine without complaining.
4. Subdue self-will in a child, and those working together with God to save the child’s soul.
5. Teach a child to pray as soon as he can speak.
6. Require all to be still during family worship.
7. Give them nothing that they cry for and only that when asked for politely.
8. To prevent lying, punish no fault which is first confessed and repented of.
9. Never allow a sinful act to go unpunished.
10. Never punish a child twice for a single offense.
11. Comment and reward good behavior.
12. Any attempt to please, even if poorly performed, should be commended.
13. Preserve property rights, even in smallest matters.
14. Strictly observe all promises.
15. Require no daughter to work before she can read.
16. Teach children to fear the rod.
“Before it is too late...”
If you have a tender message
Or a loving word to say
Do not wait till you forget it
But whisper it today
The tender work unspoken
The letter never sent
The long forgotten messages
The wealth of love unspent
For these some hearts of breaking
For these some loved ones wait
So show them that you care for them
Before it is too late.
